Profile
Augustine Tai is the Business Development Lead for APAC for Eve Air Mobility. He leads Eve’s Business Development in APAC, being responsible for the sales strategy of Eve’s eVTOL and Services, for securing Partnerships throughout the UAM ecosystem, and for supporting future operations in the APAC region.
Augustine brings to the team over 20 years of experience in the aviation and aerospace sectors, and his experience includes Technical Services, Production Management, Program Management, Airline Line Operations and Sales, covering both MRO and OEM segments. Prior to joining Eve, Augustine held the role of Services & Support (Commercial Aviation) Director (APAC) at Embraer. He was responsible for all Services & Support activities for Embraer Commercial Aviation in the APAC region, and has direct responsibilities for Services Sales, Field Service, and Material Services in the region.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical & Production Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore.

After his engagement in the research and development of international phone exchange system and data exchange system, Yasuhiro used to be the Chief of London Office, General Manager and Director of Telehouse Europe Co. Ltd. In 1996, he became the Director of O-net, Inc. Afterwards, in 2000, Senda becomes a committee of NASDA National Space Development Agency of Japan (currently JAXA Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), in 2012, a Director of Kokka-Vision Research Centre and in 2013, a Director of Japan SME Innovation Association.

Prior to AWS, Cheng was working as senior business development manager with Yokogawa focused on APC, Multi-purpose simulation, Energy management and Digitalization consulting service across refinery, petrochemical, chemical and utility plants. Cheng obtained his Ph.D. from National University of Singapore in 2002, focused on Neural Network and Pattern Recognition applied for chemical process.

Within Drone service market, drone introduction for infrastructure and facility inspection (industrial plants, etc.) is advancing rapidly and lifting the ban on level 4 flight will further expand the range of applicable facilities and inspection scope.
From the viewpoint of “Drone x Level 4 x Infrastructure Inspection,” this session will discuss legal, technical and operational aspects of mostly urban drone inspection, including its current status, issues and future.

The development and manufacture of next-generation air mobility devices, such as electric aircraft and eVTOL, and the establishment of a new industrial cluster in Japan will lead to the revival of Japan's aviation industry. In this lecture, Japanese companies aiming to enter the air mobility field will introduce their distinctive elemental technologies, and discuss the technical issues unique to air mobility and the possibilities for business development.

The R&D activities conducted so far in the NEDO project (FY2018~2022) on drone AI technologies for ensuring safety during future Level 4 flight operations using an AI-equipped drone will be introduced. In addition, the latest results of the drone remote technology for remote investigation of building fire scenes, etc. using multiple drones and digital twin environment, which is currently being developed as part of the NEDO project (FY2021~2024), will be presented.

Drones and flying cars are rapidly gaining attention as Advanced Air Mobility. In particular, Level 4 flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (flying out of sight in a manned zone) are high-risk. In order to realize this, wireless communication that can grasp the situation in real time is necessary. In this presentation, I would like to introduce the wireless communication used in Level 3, its problems and countermeasures, and consider how wireless communication should be used in Level 4.

Despite decades of experimentation, the use of Digital Twin technology in industry has faced challenges such as finding the right applications, designing sustainable and scalable architectures, and integrating and contextualizing data from various sources. This session focuses on how AWS is addressing these challenges and makes it easier and faster for customers to drive business value by providing a clear framework to identify and implement Digital Twin use cases, leverage powerful and flexible services and a robust ecosystem. Get insights on how to harness digital twins to enhance design, operations, products faster and with lower effort.
