Born in 1953 in Gifu Prefecture. In 1979, Suzuki finished the Master’s course at Graduate School of Engineering of The University of Tokyo. After being employed by Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc., he is currently a Professor Emeritus, the University of Tokyo, and a Project Professor of Institute for Future Initiatives of the University of Tokyo after retirement of a Professor of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of the University of Tokyo. Doctor of Engineering. Specialization: aeronautical engineering. The 43rd President of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences. President of International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences. His publications include Hikōki Monogatari (published by Chikumashobo Ltd.), Gendai Kōkūron (Editor, The University of Tokyo Press) and Ochinai Hikōki eno Chōsen (Kagaku-Dojin Publishing Company, INC).

As a civil engineering employee of a local government, worked mainly in the fields of urban development, urban planning.
In April 2023, moved to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In this position, based on knowledge of local government and urban planning, in charge of accelerating the implementation of AAM and drones in society.
Individual lecture
Drones are expected to be implemented in many areas following the realization of Level 4 flight last December. The frontlines of their utilization and technological development will be explained. Also explain the government's efforts toward the flight of AAM at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and beyond.

Governmernt of Japan (GOJ) are to take furthermeasures to promote social implementation of drones in various fields such as dailycommodities delivery, medicines delivery, industrial safety, agriculture, and fisheries. Inaddition, GOJ are to strengthen interregional cooperation and information sharingamong drone industries.

In 1998, Iwata became a member of the Electrotechnical Laboratory belonging to Ministry of International Trade and Industry’s Agency of Industrial Science and Technology. Awards: 16th Electronic Materials Symposium Award and 12th Lecture Honorable Mention by The Japan Society of Applied Physics. Kakuya experienced the growth of white LED development from zero to trillion yen industry. After the development of semiconductor manufacturing equipment made him interested in robotics, in 2004, Iwata transfers to Intelligent Systems Research Institute of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and starts research and development of UAS. In 2007, Kakuya received the Outstanding Lecture Award by Transportation and Logistics Division of The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. In 2007, he engages in robot policies at Industrial Machinery Division of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In 2009, Iwata launched the UAV development for “NIIGATA SKY PROJECT”.
Hiroshi Sato

In 1991, he joined Electrotechnical laboratory. He is currently a team leader with National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, the Japan Society of Applied Physics, and the Japan Institute of Electronics Packaging.
Individual lecture
SiC semiconductors have superior physical properties compared to Si semiconductors, and are expected to perform operations such as high-speed switching and low power consumption. They also works in high temperature above 200ºC where Si semiconductors are difficult to operate. By using high temperature operation, a size and a weight of a heat sink can be reduced.
In this presentation, I will introduce the SiC power module developed at AIST and its operation at 250ºC.

ACSL was the first company in Japan to receive Type 1 certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in March 2023, and succeeded in Japan's first Level 4 flight in the same month.

The rapid spread of drones in recent years has benefited greatly from technology to control the high-speed rotation of multi-rotors using lithium-ion batteries and small, high-power motors, and this control power device is achieved using power semiconductors. Power semiconductors are now evolving for the future. In this session, we will introduce key technologies necessary for the evolution of future drones with evolving power semiconductors.

Level 4 flight (Beyond visual line of sight), the most difficult drone flight method, became systematically possible with the revised Civil Aeronautics Law in December 2022, and the first flight was conducted in March 2023 in Okutama, Tokyo. The main topic of this session focuses on the discussion of the challenge to Level 4 and future prospects from the people involved in this project.

Shooting for stock photography is a challenge worth taking for both individuals and companies, as long as they have the right equipment, subject, and the right tips on what to shoot. In this lecture, Aflo creative director Francesco Libassi will share some tips and tricks on how to make money with your drone and stock photography.

As part of the moonshot R&D project, the Avatar-Symbiotic Society Project aims to create a society where everyone can play an active role using cybernetic avatars (CA) such as semi-autonomous tele-operated robots and CG agents. What new possibilities emerge when CA takes the form of a drone? This talk will explore the potential of drones and cybernetic avatars in creating a new society after achieving Drone Level 4.
