In addition, under the K Program, it is advancing the development of VTOL UAV capable of transporting 30–50 kg of cargo over distances of up to 1,000 km. It supports curved structures such as dams and tunnels, enabling efficient inspections. Furthermore, we will introduce automated inspection solutions for non-GNSS environments and the "SkyAce" series of drone simulators.
11:40~12:00 The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology Introduction to R&D Activities on Radio Technologies for Drones and AI White Paper in NICT This session introduces radio technologies developed by NICT for long-range beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) flights out of the LTE area using self-operated radio systems and coordinated multi-drone flights. The session also includes the AI White Paper (White Paper on AI-Native Networks), which outlines the future vision and verification methods for the convergence of AI and communications—an area expected to play an increasingly significant role in drone operations.
12:20~12:40 Japan Unmanned System Traffic & Radio Management Consortium JUTM Activities for Advanced Operational Coordination of Drone Radio Systems To prevent radio interference in drone operations, which are expected to increase in the future, the Japan Unmanned System Traffic & Radio Management Systems Consortium (JUTM) provides a domestic operational coordination system for the “Unmanned Mobile Image Transmission System” radio frequency band used by robots and drones. This session introduces recent activities in JUTM to further advance this system to contribute to the industrial growth.

Using LiDAR SLAM-based self-localization and real-time obstacle detection, it supports autonomous navigation, position holding, waypoint flight, and collision avoidance in GNSS-denied environments.
14:20~14:40 K-Best Technology WireLess Drone Communication Technology for Harsh RF Environments This presentation introduces advanced drone technologies for infrastructure inspection in environments where GNSS signals are unstable or degraded. By integrating 9-axis sensor-based positioning with Processed GNSS for real-time reliability assessment, drones can maintain stable and autonomous flight even under challenging conditions. In addition, a 2.4 GHz communication module enables reliable video transmission in harsh radio environments, supporting safer, more efficient, and continuous inspection operations. Expected use cases will also be presented.
